We support animal rescue. Almost all our own pets, both dogs and cats, have all been rescued as strays or adopted from animal shelters. Not only do we create dog rescue jewelry (and some cat rescue jewelry, too), but we also support animal rescue with a portion of For Love of a Dog profits, as well as in other ways.
If you're a reader of our Talking Dogs blog, you already know that we frequently announce fundraising events for animal welfare groups, profile animal advocacy groups, and each week we feature a homeless, adoptable dog.
As part of our commitment to animal rescue, we provide this directory to general animal rescue, as well as breed rescue groups. They include humane societies, animal shelters, spay neuter groups, and other organizations devoted to rescue and advocacy for animals, especially dogs, cats and horses.

Dogwood, a no-kill shelter located in Osage Beach, MO, celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2006. This year Dogwood provided sanctuary to over 1,340 homeless pets and placed 1,290 of them into loving homes; spayed or neutered over 500 stray and feral cats through their Feline Fix-it Friday Program, and provided affordable surgeries for over 1,500 dogs and cats through their low cost spay and neuter clinic. Our dog, Jeffie, came from this shelter.
